Top 3 Tips to Performing Magic

Magic has been around for as long as one can remember. Magic issomething that can take people from reality to fantasy. I havebeen interested in magic since I was just little toddler. I'llnever forget the day when I actually thought that my very ownear could produce nickels and dimes, real money! I was amazed athow my uncle could just reach out to my ear and pull out a dimeat will. This was unbelievable in my eyes! What was moreunbelievable was that my uncle actually let me keep the moneythat he kept pulling from my ear. I would run down to the localcandy store and get my favorite sugar coated candy and would beon cloud nine for the rest of the day. Funny thing was, is whenI tried to reach into my ear, there was no money coming out. Howwas it that my uncle could do such a thing and I couldn't? Wellthat is when I needed to find out how this was done and wasintroduced to the wonderful world of magic!

Over the years I have learned many magic tricks. From getting myfirst set, you know, the 50 magic tricks in one boxset, classic stuff. They still sell the same magic tricks inthat one box that I learned 25 odd years ago. Nicer packaging ofcourse and just slightly more expensive, but still a greatintroduction to magic. The one thing that is not taught in thesemagic trick sets is the actual art of performing the actualmagic trick. We can all follow the instructions on how to do tothe magic trick, but no one really tells us what to say or howto act before, during, and after the magic trick. I have learnedover the years through experience and from watching the mastersof magic first hand, on exactly what it takes to create themoment of astonishment and disbelief. I present to you, The Top3 Tips to Performing Magic! These will guaranteegreat reactions and memorable moments when performing yourfuture magic tricks.

1. Patter - This is the most important piece of your routinewhen doing magic tricks. You can take an ordinary magic trickand turn it into a whole theatrical event if you can come upwith the right dialogue to assist your magic trick. Now this ishard to teach but there are some common rules you should follow.One is to always look into your spectators' eye. Make sure youhave their attention and they are listening to your every word.Second is humor. Humor is what gets people in a relaxed stateand sets them up to be caught off guard as to what you are aboutto perform.

2. After Effect - Once you have performed your andyour spectator is freaking out as to what they have justwitnessed, do not say nothing to them. Just stay quiet for aminute and just stare at them. I do this all the time and itdrives people nuts! They will just flip out, wanting to knowwhat just happened but you are not saying a word. You just letthem talk and talk and they will build up what just happenedeven more just by themselves. Try it, it works, you'll see whatI mean.

3. Confidence - You have to go in knowing that you are going topull off one of the biggest magic tricks ever. You can't begoing in nervous or weak, it will show and take away from thetrick
